Some functions (EDF) require to select EEG segments. Select menu Edit/Selection item

Start - starts new selection at datapoint specified by cursor.

End - sets end of last selection at datapoint specified by cursor

Clear All - clears all selections.

Selections are highlighted by yellow background.
